Q: What is TED?

TED is based on Technology Entertainment and Design.  The idea is to find people that have great ideas to share and give them a platform to share their passion.

  • TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “Ideas Worth Spreading.” The (x) represents the organization as local. They are not for profit, and to date exist in over 175 countries around the world.http://www.tedxgatewayarch.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=532&action=edit&message=1
  • TEDxGatewayArch Youth specifically features and is produced by/for teens, aged 14-18. This event will be a bit smaller than the TEDx Women event at Plush on December 5 and a lot smaller than the Annual TEDx event being hosted at The Sheldon on 1.11.14.

Q: What can/can’t I bring to the event?
  • Friends (CAN!): Share this invitation – but only with the most fascinating youth – aged 14-18 – you know!
  • Food/Beverage (CAN’T!) Leave your Sesame Street lunchbox at home: breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • Cameras/Cell Phones (CAN!): Blog it, share it, tweet it! We dare you! Bonfyre, Vine, Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, Foursquare, Facebook, etc. are all very much encouraged!
  • Grandma (CAN’T!): We love your grandma – awesome cocoa! – but this is TEDxYouth and our particular program is designed for kids – aged 14-18 – and by kids. If she REALLY wants to come, let us know (we’ll work something out!)
